Ask the Taxman: Can I establish multiple businesses under a single LLC?
Answer: The answer is yes–it is possible and permissible to operate multiple businesses under one LLC. Many entrepreneurs who opt to do this use what is called a “DBA” (also known as a “Doing Business As”) to operate an additional business under a different name.
If your business is filing as an entity, it can only have one Primary NAICS code.
There will come a time when you will want to separate the businesses for tax purposes due to changes in management structure, bring on investors, taxes planning, limiting liability, establishing separate business credit, etc.
