IRS Notice CP171 Business Notice

The IRS uses Notice CP171 to remind you of taxes owed by the business.

If you have already received Notice of Intent to Levy, IRS could seize at any time. However, this CP171 reminder is not an active indication that enforced collection against you is imminent and we have time to bolster a good case for you. Waiting until the IRS seizes your property makes the case more difficult.

If you are unable to pay the balance, you can set up an installment agreement.  You will need to complete the Form 433B and disclose the business income/assets.  I would suggest that you seek out representation regarding a business installment agreement.  This can get really tricky

If near to the end of the Statue of Limitation, the passage of time may actually work in your favor. Once the statute of limitations has run its course, your options for escaping the tax burden expands.
